Experiencing the Magic of Change

Experiencing the Magic of Change

Let me tell you about our recent adventure to the marvelous Moab, Utah – a place that holds a special spot in my heart. We embarked on our road trip, craving the beauty of nature and ready to enrich our knowledge with a wilderness first aid course. (something I believe every human should take)

To make our journey even more breathtaking, we chose to take the scenic route through Capitol Reef National Park. The sights along the way were absolutely awe-inspiring. And, of course, we made a quick detour to explore the wonders of Goblin Valley State Park as well. Its untamed landscapes left us speechless, reminding us of a time when this entire area was once an ancient sea.

It’s truly remarkable how much these places have transformed over time.
Just take a moment to imagine what it must have been like back then…
The constant change that has occurred throughout the years has sculpted these breathtaking views we marvel at today.

Finally, we arrived at the breathtaking red rocks of Moab. The cool autumn breeze and vibrant foliage gently reminded us of the changing seasons. Each time I step foot there, a bittersweet feeling engulfs me.

It was in this town that I truly learned what it meant to feel alive. Moab embraced my quirks and introduced me to thrilling adventures. The kind-hearted people assisted me in discovering my identity amidst the desert canyons and rushing river rapids. Those vivid stars and majestic red rocks bestowed upon me a sense of healing and awe-inspiring inspiration that I never imagined possible.

However, years ago my plans to return and establish this place as my home base were unexpectedly shattered when Utah rejected my schooling, saying I would need to attend one of theirs. So, I found myself stuck in Colorado instead. Even though I have grown to deeply love and appreciate my time in Colorado, the blow of not being able to return to Moab had a profound impact on me.

Over time, my friendships in that town have naturally drifted and transformed. Where I was once a familiar face, now I find myself as a mere passerby, a stranger. It’s all part of life’s ever-changing seasons.

We learn to adapt and adjust, recognizing the significance of being flexible, for that is the only way we can heal and grow. While there may be a touch of sorrow and melancholy that accompanies these transitions, there is also a deep appreciation.

Take the stunning autumn leaves, for instance. Some may see them as symbols of aging, as they approach their inevitable demise. Yet, most of us don’t perceive them that way. Instead, we marvel at their vibrant colors, seeing them as a celebration of life and an alluring invitation to embrace the upcoming season.

Just picture this:
What if we welcomed life’s ever-changing seasons with the same awe and appreciation we have for the vibrant colors of autumn leaves?
Rather than resisting or despising change, what if we approached it with flexibility, allowing it to naturally flow through our lives?
Instead of concealing the signs of aging, what if we embraced them?
Instead of stubbornly clinging to the past, what if we embraced change to forge a brighter future?
Instead of being fearful, what if we felt exhilarated by the endless possibilities that lay ahead?

These simple shifts in mindset could truly transform our lives…
