Long Canyon Class {Yoga Video}
Travel alone. Find places that baffle your mind and expand your soul.
For this class I went on a journey to the top of Long Canyon, by the recommendation of a friend (thanks Michelle!). This trip allowed me to let go of some expectations I had been holding on to. What I had planned to be a trip with a friend, ended up as a lone journey (still with Ocoee of course) and being very much what I needed.
I love (and try to live by) the saying,
“Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.” – John Muir
And this path definitely was. There is something about the dirt roads, the monumental rock faces and open spaces that seem to be good for the soul. You have no choice but to realize deeper depths of yourself, to acknowledge how small you are and how grand the world is around us.
And then I arrived here, at Long Canyon. With an overlook like I’ve never seen. Of course, I had to do yoga on it.
I had actually had the expectation of doing a yoga class that night as the sun went down, but as I was checking the camera set up, a jeep came by. Three lovely souls- Vince, Chase and Avery (along with their pup Charlie) from Florida- hopped out and joined me on the overlook. We were on top of the middle of nowhere, watching the sunset and the stars come out until the milky way joined us on the top of the canyon. It is funny, the people you meet and where you meet them.
So instead I filmed the class the next morning, after a bea-UTAH-ful sunrise. This class is suitable for all levels. A hatha / restorative mix. Take your time, focus on your breath, and pause the video as you need to. Only go as far as your body says is okay. Listen to your body. And enjoy 🙂
“But here’s the thing, when we being the tenor journey of loving ourselves, then others become more drawn to us.
When we already feel complete, it takes the pressure off of everyone. Then, others naturally want to be near us. The really funny thing is that we won’t care so much. We no longer need them to feel validated.
So please, take the risk- give up on this endless search for love.
The way out is within.
Let’s find love in our own hearts. Let’s hold ourselves and adore ourselves. Let’s observe ourselves without judgement.” – Sarah Norrad
