Hurrah Yoga Practice {Video}
“I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.”
-John Burroughs
This week I drove the rough and winding road up to Hurrah Pass. I gazed at the canyons on either side of me, climbed the rocks and mediated among the whipping wind and dancing dust. I listened and laughed with the with the lust of nature.
How can one ever feel alone in such a place? How can one look at the desert and not see so much more than rocks and sand? I see her past, the sculpting of what made her here today. I see the life that demands to be present, against all odds. The desert, no doubt, holds a piece of me, for it has taught me so much.
Therefore, what better place to practice? Unfortunately, my usual mat had been stolen out of my truck this week (may it benefit someone else as much as it has me), so I opted to use my Mexican blanket (thanks, Ronda!). This practice is focused on a full body, easy flow. Take your time with it. Follow your pace, your breath. Pause as much as you need to and have patience with yourself. And if you are familiar with the breath of fire- there is a spot in here for that as well! Otherwise, we will begin teaching it specifically within another post and just stick to your regular breath for this practice. 🙂
Thank you for sharing your practice and time with me!
As always, I look forward to hearing your comments & feedback. Donations are always appreciated and help to keep this thing going!
